Fire Valves and Couplings

What is a fire valve?

Fire valves (also called hose connection valves) according to DIN 86211 PN16 are used to connect hose lines with C or B couplings to water lines, preferably on ships, and for fire extinguishing purposes or deck washing. They are available in various materials and – depending on the type – in nominal sizes DN 25 to DN 100.

A fire valve consists of body, valve insert with cover with plug, spindle and handwheel. It is usually delivered with screwed-on handwheel, stuffing box packing and fixed and blind coupling (with safety chain).

Unlike valves in the standard range, fire valves are usually painted with the special color "fire red RAL 3000".
