Ball Valves

What is a ball valve?

Valves that use a ball as a shut-off device are called ball valves. Ball valves are constructed so that they completely stop the flow of liquids or gases in pipes with a large diameter. Contrary to butterfly valves or gate valves, the shut-off device is a ball with a bore which can control the flow. This part is governed by the European Norm EN 331/98. The special features of these valves are, among others, the compact and robust design, ata full cross-section they allow ahigh flow rate and in high pressure applications they remain sealed.
