Urgent job for a Hamburg ship repair yard

There’s been a fire in the engine room of a luxury liner. Shortly afterwards, Barthel Armaturen receives a delivery request from a well-known Hamburg ship repair yard. Major aspects are clarified over the phone as the request is being made – our staff discuss the rest on board the ship. Standard fittings are dispatched before the day is out; special parts are immediately customised or specially manufactured, and approved by Germanischer Lloyd the next day. Everything goes perfectly and within the requested time frame. The cruise liner can depart on schedule.

Make haste: delivering GESTRA boiler electronics

Early one morning Barthel Armaturen receives an urgent order. A customer needs GESTRA boiler electronics for a steam boiler as quickly as possible. Our staff phone the customer immediately to clarify which component is needed. A few minutes later they send out the quote, and the order is placed straight away. Everything runs smoothly. The shipment is ready, dispatched and on its way to the customer less than 90 minutes later.

Express delivery: from the manufacturer straight to the construction site

What do you do when time is pressing and the goods are not available? A customer needs special screw fixtures on his construction site the next day. If Barthel Armaturen is going to deliver on time, then the only option is direct delivery from the manufacturer. No sooner said than done. After talking to the customer and the manufacturer, the parts are immediately ordered by us and an express delivery is consigned. Our staff make one final call to the supplier in the afternoon to check on everything, and it all goes smoothly. Delivery is nine the next morning, and work continues on schedule.

Well advised on suitable sampling systems

Customers interested in sampling systems enjoy comprehensive advice at Barthel Armaturen. With experience of constructing more than 2,000 systems ourselves, our staff are in a position to select the one most suitable. The technical circumstances are discussed first by phone; if required we can gladly come out on site to clarify requirements specific to the product and adapt our existing designs accordingly. Customers then receive a detailed quotation from Barthel Armaturen, complete with a series of 3-D diagrams.

Complete tank heating system delivered within 48 hours

A tank heating system with control value, controller, switchgear cabinet and temperature monitor all included – that was the order received one morning by Barthel Armaturen. Our staff clarify the technical details by phone a little while later, and by midday we have sent a quotation to the customer by e-mail. The customer places the order that afternoon. The next morning the parts are commissioned and placed with Production. The day afterwards the control value is assembled and the controller programmed – then the transport company arrives to collect the goods.

Customer request: adapter with NPT thread made from duplex steel

Barthel Armaturen receives custom orders regularly. One example was a request for an adapter with an NPT thread made from duplex steel. For our staff that means checking the availability of materials and finding out whether material certification is required. Barthel Armaturen then draws up a quotation and discusses the production deadline with the customer. The goods, including a material quality certificate, are delivered within one to three days.
