Our company is based in Hamburg-Altona. We have been manufacturing and selling fittings for the shipbuilding and other industrial sectors for more than 75 years. The quality of our products, the development of customised designs, our flexibility, short delivery periods and wide-ranging services have given our company an excellent reputation. Our customers include almost all well-known German and international shipyards, as well as industrial companies operating in many different sectors.

Yet our beginnings were quite modest. In line with the motto: “Better a small master than a big servant”, Fritz Barthel founded his company on 1 April 1932. The engineer’s many years of experience in shipbuilding and his lively spirit of invention enabled his company to adapt quickly and individually to meet the specific needs of the various Hamburg and other Northern German shipyards. A short time later, the first orders came in from industrial firms, thus opening up a further field of operation.

Today, our family-run company employs around 80 staff. Working under state-of-the-art conditions, we manufacture the right fittings to suit your needs from a wide variety of materials based on your or our drawings.
